In celebration of Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, a very special event will take place in the private grounds of Windsor Castle. The Celebration will see more than 500 horses and 1000 performers create a 90-minute piece of spellbinding arena theatre that will include actors and artists, musicians, international military displays from the Commonwealth, Europe and our Armed Forces, dancers and global equestrian displays. The gallop through the story of Great Britain and the world will narrate history over five centuries and the Kings, Queens, significant events and the colourful people along the way. Above all, it will be a special tribute to a monarch who means so much, to so many people all over the world.

With moments of humour, great theatricality, pomp and pageantry, this will be a spectacle like none other. Leading the narrative will be The Queen’s Players, a group of actors and artists especially brought together for the event and based on the travelling players of the Elizabethan period with well-known actors and presenters a part of the troupe. The music will be performed by the sixty piece National Symphony Orchestra. The Sunday evening performance beneath the lit ramparts of Windsor Castle is the last and “special” night and we have top price tickets in the centre of the stands Block 11 opposite the Royal Box.

Saturday 14 May:  Check into the Macdonald Berystede Hotel before a drinks reception and dinner.

Sunday 15 May:  In the morning a 2 ½ hour River cruise on the Thames starting from Runnymede aboard a genuine Victorian steamboat.  An early ploughman’s lunch will be served whilst enjoying the views beside the grounds of Windsor Castle on to Romney Lock, through Old Windsor lock and alongside the pretty village of Datchet.  The early part of the afternoon will include a visit to Savill Garden, a hidden gem in the heart of Windsor Great Park. Commissioned by George V, the Garden was created in 1932 by Sir Eric Savill and is managed by the Crown Estate.  Return to the hotel around 3 pm.  There will be a light supper at 5pm before leaving for Windsor allowing enough time to explore the show ground before the evening event which starts at 8.45 pm.

Monday 16 May:  Check out of the hotel before a morning visit and tour of one of England’s outstanding Tudor Manor Houses - Dorney Court.    Surrounded by mature parkland and traditional gardens, Dorney Court is widely regarded for its diverse collection of portraits, furniture and art – telling the stories of the lives and times of those who have been privileged to call it home for over 500 years.  Adjacent is Dorney Lake, Eton College Rowing Centre, the Olympic Rowing Venue in 2012 which (tbc) we will drive around before returning to the hotel or Ascot railway station for 1 pm.
