 A wonderful opportunity to view one of the biggest games in world cricket
staged at the Rose Bowl, Southampton, when it hosts England Vs
India in a floodlit NatWest Series One-Day International. Your hotel,
the Macdonald Botley Park Hotel and Country Club, is within three miles
of the stadium.
Monday 20 August
Arrive at the hotel for welcome drink and
a guest speaker followed by dinner.
 Tuesday 21 August
Your morning
is at leisure to enjoy the hotel facilities before taking an executive
coach up to the Rose Bowl. With players such as Flintoff, Pietersen
and Harmison taking on Tendulkar, Dravid and Kumble this promises
to be one of the highlights of the summer and tickets will be in
huge demand. We have been able to obtain top price seats behind
the bowler’s arm at
the northern end of the arena. Play starts early afternoon with 50 overs
followed with a break for late tea, play then resumes for a further 50
overs when the ground will be under flood lighting – the atmosphere
of these international games, with a full capacity crowd, is electric.
The Rose Bowl is built into the hillside creating an amphitheatre; this
stunning cricket venue with seating for over 9,000 spectators, is home
to Hampshire Cricket.
You will be provided with a picnic lunch and afternoon
snack but there are many other refreshment outlets within the stadium.
You will be returned by coach to the hotel when the match has
finished around 2215 hrs. A light buffet will be available at the
hotel on your return.
