LATE PERFORMANCE at the FINAL NIGHT of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.  Staying at the elegant four-star Macdonald Roxburghe Hotel, Charlotte Square.

Enjoy the spine-tingling sights and stirring music of the world-famous Massed Pipes and Drums of the Scottish Regiments recreating the pageantry and ceremony associated with Scottish history. This year the Tattoo will pay a sparkling tribute to HM Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee with a line-up of nearly 1000 performers.  Set against the incomparable backcloth of Edinburgh Castle, with music, colour and spectacle, enjoy international displays including Switzerland’s ‘Top Secret Drum Corps’ and from Norway The King’s Guard Band and Drill Team plus dancers from home and abroad and the poignant notes of the Lone Piper high on the Castle ramparts. 

Tickets are for the Saturday 10.30 pm performance of the Tattoo, with a fantastic fireworks finale. We always apply for the best possible top priced tickets, normally looking towards the Castle and providing excellent viewing of the esplanade.

We have reserved accommodation with breakfast on the Friday and Saturday nights and on Friday evening a drinks reception hosted by our Scottish Representative.

You are in the heart of Edinburgh’s Festival with theatre, arts and live events, including the International Book Festival next to the hotel. Dine in the hotel’s award winning Melrose Restaurant, locally in George Street or on the Royal Mile, before walking up to the Castle for the Tattoo.
