The Times Cheltenham Literature Festival

From the Mercure Queen’s Hotel, Cheltenham
15 -17 October 2010  (two nights)

There could be no better nor more convenient place to stay than the four star Mercure Queen’s Hotel, Imperial Square, Cheltenham, in order to enjoy one of the oldest leading literary festivals.  The Times Literature Festival has enjoyed unprecedented success over the years with writers worldwide flocking to Cheltenham to take part, thus ensuring a varied and enjoyable programme of events.   This two night tour, staying along with many of the authors and presenters in the enviably-located hotel in the heart of this attractive Regency Spa town within a few minutes walk of the Town Hall, Garden Theatre and Festival Book Tent, will include tickets for six of the best lectures from Friday afternoon through to Sunday afternoon.  Details will be sent to you when available, and later the full Festival Programme so it would be possible to book additional lectures or to attend some of the many free fringe events – equally to just soak up the unique festival atmosphere and inevitably enjoy browsing and being tempted in the extensive book tents.

Friday 15 October:  Arrive at the hotel – check-in is normally from mid-afternoon but our representative will be available at 1300 hrs to let you have tickets and full details of lectures for this afternoon – the hotel will look after your luggage meanwhile.  This evening there will be a welcome drink followed by dinner in the hotel.

Saturday 16 October and Sunday 17 October:  Tickets will have been organised for the pre-booked events and you will be given further information on all venues to ensure that you can get maximum enjoyment out of your stay.  Dinner will be included in the hotel on Saturday evening.  Should there be a lecture on either Friday or Saturday evening, dinner at the hotel will be arranged so that it is possible to attend.

It may be possible to stay extra nights in the Queen’s Hotel either before or after the tour; it is recommended these are requested at the time of booking.
Car parking is normally available at the hotel (extra charge) but there is an excellent train service to Cheltenham.
