– The National Gallery

From the Cavendish Hotel, St James’s
04 – 06 December 2010 (2 nights)

Enjoy a weekend in London staying at the ideally located Cavendish Hotel in the heart of Mayfair and including:  The Finals of the Masters Championships taking place at the Royal Albert Hall, where star players competing can include Stefan Edberg and Goran Ivanisevic and exhibition doubles matches with the entertaining and irrepressible Bahrami, Leconte and McNamara. Also a hugely enlightening coach tour giving an extraordinary insight into the City of London, Canary Wharf, Docklands and the 2012 Olympic Park Sites, and tickets for “Canaletto and His Great Rivals” at the National Gallery.

Saturday 4 December
:  Arrive and check into hotel before welcome drink and dinner if you choose this option.

Sunday 5 December
:
Accompanied by an accredited Blue Badge City of London and Olympic Site Guide, the coach will tour this major development. See the rejuvenated and extraordinary landscape, be amazed at the logistics and sheer scale of the project which is the site for the 2012 Olympics, travelling from the glitz of the West End, into the heart of London’s financial hub and through to the East End – recently developed as a fashionable and multicultural residential area, but in the past famous for market gardens, fine churches and textile, clothing, furniture and shipping-related industries. Then…. into the 21st century arriving at the Olympic Park, view the construction and progress of the 80,000-seat Main Stadium, the Multi-Sports Arena, Aquatics Centre, Velodrome, Olympic Village, Broadcasting & Media Centre and Stratford City and hear the planned legacy for future generations – return through the almost equally futuristic capsule of Canary Wharf on the Isle of Dogs.

The tour finishes at the Royal Albert Hall in time to purchase lunch before taking your top class seats with superb views of the court for this very popular indoor tennis tournament. The AEGON Masters Championships - Twelve players will have fought for a place in the finals  – the likes of McEnroe and Becker are joined by Edberg and Ivanisevic playing at perhaps the most iconic of all tennis venues.  You can be sure of some superb tennis in the singles finals and men’s doubles together with a lot of fun from the more relaxed exhibition matches.
